Can you customize Jason and Lucia's appearance?
Jason and Lucia appear in different clothes and looks, but Rockstar has not explained player-controlled customization. Clothing is plausible; hair, tattoos, and body changes are unconfirmed.
Rumored — varied appearances are visible, but the customization system is unknown. Official GTA 6 material shows Jason and Lucia wearing different outfits and appearing in different contexts. Rockstar has not said which changes are chosen by the player, which are assigned by missions, or which categories of appearance can be edited.
Clothing customization is a reasonable expectation from Rockstar’s recent games. Specific claims about hairstyles, tattoos, body shape, makeup, jewelry, or saved outfits remain unconfirmed.
What the official material shows
Trailer 2 and Rockstar’s official character pages present both protagonists across a range of scenes. Their clothing is not identical in every appearance, which establishes visual variety. It does not establish a shop interface or prove that every shown look is freely selectable.
Story-driven games routinely change costumes for a scene, time jump, job, or location. To confirm customization, Rockstar would need to show the player purchasing, equipping, storing, or editing an item. No official menu or hands-on account currently explains that process.
The protagonists themselves are fixed, named characters with established backgrounds. Rockstar has not suggested that campaign players create replacements or alter core identity features. That is separate from the unannounced question of any future online mode.
What GTA V and RDR2 suggest
GTA V lets players buy clothing, change outfits, visit barbers, and give its three protagonists tattoos. Some options are character-specific, and certain visual changes can be affected by story context. GTA Online goes much further because its long-running multiplayer economy supports created characters and a large catalog of cosmetic items.
Red Dead Redemption 2 deepens the single-player approach. Arthur can combine clothing pieces, store outfits, change hair and facial hair, wear accessories, and experience gradual hair growth. Weight also changes through play, though it is a character-state system rather than a conventional body editor.
| Customization area | Rockstar precedent | GTA 6 status |
|---|---|---|
| Clothing and outfits | GTA V and RDR2 | Likely, not announced |
| Hair and facial hair | GTA V and RDR2 | Unconfirmed |
| Tattoos | GTA V | Unconfirmed |
| Jewelry and accessories | GTA Online and RDR2 | Unconfirmed |
| Body or weight changes | RDR2 has a state-based system | Unconfirmed |
These precedents show what Rockstar can build, not what GTA 6 necessarily contains.
Why two protagonists complicate the answer
Jason and Lucia may have separate wardrobes, shops, items, or style options. They may also receive mission-specific outfits that cannot be used everywhere. If players can switch freely, Rockstar must decide whether appearance persists independently and how clothing is represented when the inactive character appears elsewhere.
None of those rules has been announced because character switching itself remains unexplained. The official character guide covers their confirmed identities without treating changing trailer outfits as a menu feature.
It is also too early to infer an economy from the clothes shown. Price ranges, store types, unlock conditions, wardrobe capacity, and cosmetic rewards are unknown. The announced Standard and Ultimate editions do not, by themselves, explain campaign customization.
What would confirm customization
An official gameplay demonstration inside a clothing store or wardrobe would establish player choice. A settings or interaction menu could confirm categories such as tops, footwear, accessories, hair, or tattoos. Rockstar might also explain whether outfits affect recognition, missions, weather, or only appearance.
Until that happens, the sensible position is that clothing options are plausible and perhaps likely, while the depth of the system is rumored. Trailer screenshots can document looks, but they cannot document agency. More official footage is collected in the trailers hub, and confirmed facts are tracked in everything confirmed so far.
This page will be updated when Rockstar publishes official details about character and clothing customization.
