Will GTA 6 be on Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus?

GTA 6 is not included with Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus at launch, and no subscription deal has been announced. You buy it as a standard game. A subscription is only relevant later for online multiplayer, if an online mode ships.

Verdict: Rumored — no subscription deal is announced, and a mainline GTA has never launched into one.

GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026 for PS5, including PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has announced editions and prices, but no availability through Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, or any other subscription. As things stand you buy the game outright, the same way every other GTA has shipped.

Two different questions get mixed up here

“Is GTA 6 on Game Pass?” usually hides two separate questions, and the answers are not the same:

The platform guide covers what a purchase actually gets you, and the editions and pre-order guide covers the ways to buy it.

Rockstar and Take-Two’s subscription history

Publishers price their biggest new releases to be bought, not streamed for a monthly fee. Rockstar has followed that pattern every time.

Game Launch On a subscription at launch? Later?
GTA V September 2013 No Joined subscription catalogs years later, on and off
Red Dead Redemption 2 October 2018 No Added to Game Pass in 2022, then rotated out
GTA 6 November 19, 2026 Not announced No signal either way

The takeaway is not that GTA 6 will never appear on a service. It is that day-one inclusion would break a consistent pattern, and older Rockstar titles only reached those catalogs long after release — and did not stay.

Why day-one inclusion is unlikely

A publisher gives up a large share of full-price sales when a game launches straight into a subscription. Take-Two has said repeatedly that it prices its marquee releases as premium products, and the confirmed $79.99 standard edition is consistent with that. A studio does not build the most expensive game in the medium’s history and then hand it away for the price of a monthly membership on release day.

That is reasoning from a pattern, not an announcement. Rockstar could strike a deal, and this page does not rule one out. It rules out treating an unannounced deal as fact.

What would confirm it

An official Rockstar, Xbox, or PlayStation announcement naming GTA 6 as part of a subscription catalog, with a date. A retailer badge, a wishlist tag, or a “coming to Game Pass” rumor is not that. The rumor index tracks the open business questions without filling them with guesses.

Our read: buy or pre-order GTA 6 on the basis of the announced editions. Do not wait for a subscription that has not been announced and, by every precedent, will not arrive at launch. This page will be updated when official information lands.
