What we actually know
GTA 6 is scheduled for PlayStation 5, including PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Asked directly whether the game has any multiplayer modes or features, the official storefront FAQ answers that it is a single-player experience — which settles day one and only day one.
Beyond that, Rockstar presents no separate online product, launch window, beta, or rollout plan. There is no official word on crossplay, player counts, progression, subscriptions, or how any future online component would relate to the existing GTA Online. GTA Online subsequently became enormously profitable and developed into a long-running service. That success makes another online experience a reasonable expectation for many players. It also gives Rockstar reasons to manage the transition carefully. Neither point provides a date.

The same day, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported that Take-Two is discussing GTA 6 purely as a single-player product: the company “hasn’t talked at all, and they are not planning to talk anytime soon about what the new GTA Online will look like, and what that recurring spend will look like.”
That is the more significant half for this page, and it points the wrong way. A reveal held back for the marketing run-up and a reveal the company has no near-term plans to give are different things. It is equally possible that Rockstar could package multiplayer differently or avoid the “GTA 6 Online” name.
