Verdict: Rumored. Rockstar has not detailed GTA 6’s vehicle-damage model or driving physics. Official trailers display high-quality animation, surfaces, traffic, and vehicle movement, but they are edited cinematic presentations. They cannot tell us how cars deform during ordinary play or where the handling sits between arcade responsiveness and simulation.

What the trailers can show

Published footage can establish visual targets: varied road vehicles, mud trucks, motorcycles, watercraft, dense traffic, and environments ranging from city streets to wetlands. It can also show that Rockstar is paying close attention to motion and material detail. Those observations are valid without assigning unseen rules to the physics engine.

The limitation is control. Viewers do not know the input, speed, vehicle condition, mission scripting, or number of takes behind a shot. Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 therefore provide evidence of presentation, not a repeatable physics test.
