How does vehicle storage work in GTA 6?

Rockstar has not detailed how players acquire, save, organize, or recover vehicles in GTA 6. The clearest official clue is the free Vintage Vice City Pack offered with copies bought through November 20, 2026: it includes a 1955 Vapid Stanier and a garage, alongside cosmetic items and an 80s weapon finish. That confirms a garage in the bonus, not the rules for every garage.
What we actually know
The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99, with preorders open since June 25, 2026. The Ultimate Edition adds premium vehicles, apparel, personalized weapons, and two exclusive Vehicle Mod Shops. These benefits indicate vehicle ownership and vehicle-focused locations, but Rockstar has not stated storage capacity, slot limits, save behavior, or whether the systems differ between story and any future online mode.

Series precedent
GTA V uses character garages and property storage, while GTA Online developed a much larger ownership system tied to properties and services. Red Dead Redemption 2 handles owned horses through stables, showing another Rockstar approach to persistent personal transport. These systems establish precedent, not GTA 6 specifications.

The likely design needs
A game with a broad vehicle mix needs some way to distinguish temporary transport from vehicles a player values. Trailers show muscle cars, mud trucks, boats, jet skis, and motorcycles, raising practical questions about land and watercraft storage. It is reasonable to expect persistence rules, but not reasonable to claim a particular menu, capacity, or property system.
The two Ultimate Edition Vehicle Mod Shops may provide customization services, storage, or both; only the stated mod-shop benefit is confirmed. “Exclusive” also does not tell us whether equivalent non-exclusive facilities exist elsewhere.
What would confirm it
A Rockstar gameplay feature, official FAQ, store description, or hands-on reporting could establish garage sizes, vehicle ownership rules, impound systems, and whether a saved car can be permanently lost. The finished game may ultimately be the first complete source.
