Will GTA 6 come to iOS or Android phones?
There is no announced GTA 6 version for iOS or Android. It launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar has brought older Grand Theft Auto games to phones, but never a brand-new mainline title, and no phone port has been announced.
Verdict: Rumored — no GTA 6 phone version is announced, and the hardware gap makes a launch port implausible.
GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026 for PS5, including PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. Those are the only confirmed platforms. Rockstar has not announced an iOS or Android version, a release window for one, or any streaming route to play it on a phone.
What Rockstar’s mobile track record actually shows
Rockstar does put Grand Theft Auto on phones — but always as ports of finished, older games, never a new mainline entry launching alongside consoles.
- The classic III-era trilogy was remastered for phones over a decade ago.
- The Definitive Edition trilogy has more recently reached mobile.
- Chinatown Wars, a handheld spin-off, was later brought to iOS and Android.
Every one of those arrived years after its original release, on hardware generations behind the leading edge. None was a numbered mainline game debuting on mobile. That history keeps a distant, cut-down GTA 6 phone port imaginable, but it argues strongly against one at or near launch.
Why a launch mobile version is implausible
GTA 6 is built for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S — hardware with dedicated GPUs, fast SSD streaming, and power budgets a phone cannot match. Shrinking that to run on a handset is not a setting toggle; it is a separate, ground-up engineering project, the kind Rockstar has only ever undertaken for older, simpler games well after the fact.
Cloud streaming is the one route that could technically put GTA 6 on a phone screen without a native port — but no GTA 6 streaming service has been announced either, and that would still require the game to exist on a supported platform first.
Don’t confuse the in-game phone with a mobile release
GTA games feature an in-game smartphone the player uses for missions, contacts, and apps, and GTA 6’s trailers show one. That is a gameplay feature inside the console game. It says nothing about the game itself running on a real iPhone or Android device.
The platform guide lists only the systems Rockstar has named. The PC version rumor and Steam Deck page cover the other “will it come to my device” questions.
What would confirm it
An official Rockstar announcement of a GTA 6 iOS or Android version, or a cloud service offering it, with a date and requirements. App-store placeholders, “pre-register” pages, and lookalike listings are common scams around big releases and are not confirmation — treat any GTA 6 mobile download that appears before an official announcement as fake.
Our read: GTA 6 is a console game at launch, and there is no basis today for a phone version. This page will be updated when official information lands.
