What languages and subtitles will GTA 6 support?

Rockstar has not announced a complete language, voice, or subtitle list for GTA 6. Official regional store listings should provide the reliable compatibility details closer to release.

Rumored — the supported language list is not announced. Rockstar has not published a complete breakdown of GTA 6 interface languages, subtitles, or dubbed audio. The game releases November 19, 2026 on PS5, including PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S, but platform availability does not guarantee a particular localization.

The three language lists matter

Store pages often separate interface text, subtitle text, and full audio. A language can appear in one category without appearing in the others. Players should therefore look beyond a general statement that a game is “localized.”

Language feature What it normally covers GTA 6 status
Interface Menus, prompts, maps, tutorials Not announced
Subtitles Spoken dialogue rendered as text Not announced
Full audio Dubbed character dialogue Not announced

Subtitle support also does not answer whether captions identify speakers, describe important sounds, or offer size and background controls. Those are separate accessibility questions. Rockstar has announced no GTA 6 audio or subtitle feature set.

The platform guide tracks the confirmed console versions, while the confirmed roundup covers announced features.

Why regional copies need attention

Language availability can differ by storefront region or account settings. Because GTA 6 has no disc — boxed copies contain a download code — language packs follow the storefront the code is redeemed against, not the country the box was bought in. Importing a boxed copy therefore does not guarantee that region’s language options, and checking the specific listing before buying avoids the problem.

Players should consult the product page for the exact region and edition they intend to buy. The $79.99 Standard Edition and $99.99 Ultimate Edition differ in bonus content, but Rockstar has not said they differ in language support. The Vintage Vice City Pack offered with copies bought through November 20, 2026 likewise says nothing about localization.

Console system language can sometimes select a game’s text automatically, but that behavior should not be assumed before official compatibility information appears. Retail packaging can also provide a concise language table for physical copies.

What Rockstar precedent suggests

Rockstar’s previous large releases have shipped internationally with multiple text localizations, and Red Dead Redemption 2 offered extensive subtitle and audio-related options on consoles. That makes broad localization reasonable to expect for a global release, but it cannot identify which languages GTA 6 will include.

Past support is especially weak evidence for dubbing. Publishers make voice-localization decisions title by title, and the size of GTA 6’s script is unknown. Lists copied from GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2 should not be presented as GTA 6 specifications.

How to verify support before buying

The strongest sources will be Rockstar’s official support materials, the regional PlayStation and Microsoft product pages, and the language information printed on retail packaging. Check all three columns—interface, subtitles, and audio—and confirm that the listing matches the copy’s region.

If readable subtitles are important, wait for details about size, contrast, speaker labels, and caption options rather than relying only on a language checkmark. Reviews of the release version may show the actual settings menus. The guides hub will organize practical setup information once those menus are documented, and the news hub will track official announcements.

This page will be updated when official information about GTA 6 languages and subtitles lands.
