Will GTA 6 have multiple endings?

Rockstar has not confirmed multiple endings for GTA 6. GTA V offers a relevant precedent, but Jason and Lucia's story may end in one fixed outcome or several player-dependent outcomes.

Rumored — nothing official. Rockstar has not announced that GTA 6 has multiple endings. No official description explains final choices, branching paths, or whether Jason and Lucia can reach different outcomes. GTA V makes the idea reasonable to ask about, but precedent is not confirmation.

What we actually know

Jason and Lucia are partners pulled into a conspiracy after a plan for easy money goes wrong. Rockstar’s official framing emphasizes trust: the pair may need to rely on each other more than ever if they want to survive. That theme could support a consequential choice, but it could just as naturally lead to a single authored conclusion.

The supporting cast includes criminals, musicians, business figures, and friends across Leonida. Rockstar has not said whether relationships with any of them branch, whether missions can be resolved in meaningfully different ways, or whether player decisions persist into the finale. See our story overview for what has actually been announced.

The official trailers are also not proof of alternate paths. They present selected scenes without telling us where those moments occur or whether the player can change their outcomes. Our Trailer 1 page keeps that distinction clear.

The case for multiple endings

GTA V is the strongest series precedent. Its concluding decision can lead to different outcomes, making alternate endings familiar territory for modern Grand Theft Auto. GTA IV also asks the player to make a late choice with serious consequences, although its branching structure works differently.

Jason and Lucia’s partnership seems suited to choices about loyalty, survival, and self-interest. A crime story modeled around a couple under pressure can force decisions that test whether each person protects the other. That is a sound thematic prediction—not evidence that Rockstar has built a menu of endings.

Rockstar could also use character switching to present competing perspectives before a fixed finale. Red Dead Redemption 2 demonstrates that a story can respond to player behavior in some respects while still moving toward major authored events. “Choice matters” and “multiple endings” are not always the same claim.

Reasons to remain cautious

A single ending can give writers tighter control over character arcs and continuity. It can also make any later online content or sequel references easier to frame. Vice City and San Andreas largely build toward defined conclusions, showing that a broad open world does not require a branching finale.

There is another practical distinction: minor epilogue variations are not necessarily separate endings. The game might alter dialogue, available allies, or post-story conditions without offering fundamentally different conclusions. Until Rockstar explains the structure, even the meaning of “multiple endings” remains uncertain.

Claims circulating from unofficial sources do not establish which characters survive or what choices appear. Treat unsourced ending descriptions as speculation and avoid them if you want to experience the story without fabricated spoilers.

What would confirm it

Rockstar could confirm branching outcomes in a gameplay feature, interview, official guide, or Newswire post. Otherwise, the answer will come from the released game on November 19, 2026. A trailer showing Jason and Lucia in conflict still would not prove multiple endings; we would need explicit language or complete game context.
