Verdict: Rumored — GTA 6 has no announced branching-choice system or confirmed multiple endings.

Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval are presented as partners whose attempt at easy money leads into a conspiracy across Leonida. That setup naturally raises questions about trust and decisions, but a story about a relationship is not proof that players can branch it. Rockstar has not said that dialogue, mission choices, or player behavior changes the campaign’s outcome.

What we actually know

The game takes place in present-day Leonida, centered on Vice City. Lucia was born in Liberty City and imprisoned for fighting for her family; Jason is ex-Army and lives in the Leonida Keys. Rockstar has also introduced Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista, Brian Heder, and Cal Hampton.

The official premise frames Lucia and Jason as a modern Bonnie and Clyde pair under pressure. It does not reveal a villain, endings, story length, or a relationship-management mechanic. Our story guide records the published narrative details, and the character guide covers the known cast without assigning them unannounced roles.

Series precedent

Rockstar games have used player decisions in different ways. GTA IV presented consequential decisions at specific story points. GTA V culminated in an endgame choice. Red Dead Redemption 2 used an honor system and selected decisions to shape tone and outcomes. GTA: San Andreas was more linear in its central narrative despite offering freedom throughout the world.

Game Relevant precedent Limit of the comparison
GTA: San Andreas Open-world freedom around a directed story Does not predict branching in GTA 6
GTA IV Certain decisions affect character outcomes Does not establish a full choice system
GTA V A late choice changes the conclusion GTA 6 endings remain unannounced
RDR2 Honor and decisions shape parts of the experience No GTA 6 morality system is confirmed

The precedent makes isolated decisions plausible. It does not support claims about extensive branching, romance meters, permanent world changes, or a particular number of endings.

What “choices matter” could mean

The phrase can describe several different designs: alternate dialogue, mission tactics, optional objectives, changing relationships, mutually exclusive missions, or different endings. A game can acknowledge moment-to-moment behavior without changing its main plot, and it can offer a major final decision without being a broadly branching role-playing game.

That is why footage showing two approaches to a situation would not by itself confirm narrative consequences. The trailer hub collects official videos, while our rumor index tracks features that remain open questions.

What would confirm it

Rockstar could confirm the feature through a gameplay overview that demonstrates an altered result, a written description of branching missions, or an explicit explanation of player decisions. Reviews and reproducible play after release could then show how broad or narrow the consequences are.

Our read is cautious. Rockstar has precedent for selective choices, and Lucia and Jason’s partnership could support them, but neither point guarantees a branching campaign. Claims about betrayal routes, character deaths, or endings should not be treated as facts. This page will be updated when official information lands.
