GTA 6 Characters: Jason, Lucia and the Cast

GTA 6 is a two-lead story surrounded by one of the deepest supporting casts Rockstar has ever introduced before launch. Everyone below is officially confirmed — named and profiled by Rockstar itself. No leak characters, no speculation.

The protagonists

Lucia Caminos

The story opens with Lucia getting out of prison. Born in Liberty City, raised in Leonida, her official bio says she went in for “fighting for her family” — and her Trailer 1 prison interview (“bad luck”) set the tone for the whole reveal. She’s pragmatic where Jason is easygoing, and official material positions her as the one pushing for a bigger life rather than a quiet one.

She matters historically, too: the first playable female lead in a modern mainline GTA, carrying the game’s Bonnie half of its Bonnie-and-Clyde spine.

Jason Duval

Ex-Army, living in a trailer in the Leonida Keys and “doing favors” for local drug runners in exchange for rent when the story picks up. Jason’s official framing is a man who wants an easy life and keeps choosing the complicated one — the getaway driver who should have known better.

The relationship between the two is the story’s engine — Rockstar sells the domestic intimacy as hard as the chaos. Their dual role is confirmed, with sources.

The Vice City players

Boobie Ike

A Vice City legend — former street figure turned business empire, with fingers in a strip club, a recording studio and real estate. Official material frames him as the establishment of Vice City’s hustle economy: the man everyone eventually deals with.

Dre’Quan Priest

A music mogul on the rise, running the Only Raw Records label and looking for the next viral moment. His path crosses the underworld’s because in Vice City the music business and the street economy are the same rooms.

Real Dimez

The rap duo signed to Dre’Quan — chasing fame through exactly the in-game social media machine the trailers keep cutting to. Their world is where GTA 6’s internet-culture satire lives.

The Keys and the backwoods

Brian Heder

An old-school drug runner in the Leonida Keys — Jason’s landlord, boss and the closest thing he has to family when the story opens. Official material gives him a past in the smuggling golden age and a present of small-time moves.

Cal Hampton

Jason’s friend — a conspiracy-minded shut-in who watches the world through police scanners and internet forums. Comic relief on the surface; in a story about heat and surveillance, probably more useful than he looks.

Raul Bautista

A veteran bank robber always assembling a crew for the next job. If Jason and Lucia’s “easy money gone wrong” turns into organized heists, Raul is the obvious door into that world.

Who’s the villain?

Unannounced — genuinely. Rockstar has profiled hustlers, moguls and robbers but no antagonist. GTA historically builds its villains from institutions (corrupt agencies, cartels, billionaires) as much as individuals; who fills that seat in Leonida is one of the launch’s real unknowns. Claims naming a villain belong in the rumor tracker, not here.

Where to see them

Every character appearance in both trailers is pinned to its timestamp in our trailer breakdowns — and the full official bios live on Rockstar’s GTA VI site.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the main characters in GTA 6?

Two playable protagonists: Lucia Caminos, fresh out of prison and the series' first female lead in the modern era, and Jason Duval, an ex-Army fixer surviving in the Leonida Keys. The story centers on their partnership.

Can you play as both characters in GTA 6?

Yes — Rockstar has confirmed both Jason and Lucia are playable. How switching works moment to moment hasn't been detailed officially.

Who is the villain in GTA 6?

Unannounced. Official material introduces cast members on every side of Leonida's underworld but names no antagonist. Any 'confirmed villain' claim you see is speculation.

Is Lucia the first female protagonist in GTA?

She's the first playable female lead in a mainline 3D-era GTA. The original top-down GTA (1997) technically offered selectable female characters, which is why careful phrasing matters.
