Are there gas stations and car washes in GTA 6?

Verdict: Likely for gas stations, still rumored for car washes. Two outlets under different owners report that GTA 6’s gas stations are working services where you refuel, recharge and repair a vehicle. Nothing comparable has been reported for car washes, and Rockstar has not described either in its own materials.
What changed
This page previously said Rockstar had confirmed no player-facing role for gas stations and no fuel system. Reporting from the preview sessions Rockstar held at Rockstar North has overtaken that.
PC Gamer and GameSpot both relay the account of the YouTube creator TGG, who watched co-studio head Rob Nelson play the game. According to that account, pulling into a gas station offers a refuel or recharge option and a repair option, and choosing to fill up plays a short animation of roughly ten seconds. PC Gamer quotes Nelson’s reaction in the room: “Hey, that’s pretty fast for a fill up. You can’t complain about that.”

Why this is not marked confirmed
Confirmed on this tracker means Rockstar or Take-Two stated or showed it. The gas-station details come from one preview attendee’s description, repeated by mainstream outlets. That is good evidence, and two independently owned outlets chose to run it, but it is not a Rockstar publication. The trailers, the Extended Look and the store pages do not show a pump being used.
So the honest position is that functional gas stations are very probably in the game, and the specifics above could still differ at launch.
Car washes
Nothing has moved here. No preview report, interview or official page describes a usable car wash in GTA 6. A sign or building in a trailer would establish scenery, not a service.
There is a reason to think it plausible. Rockstar has described a world that reacts to what Jason and Lucia are visibly carrying, and the body and condition system shows the studio is willing to track the state of things over time. Vehicle dirt would fit that. Plausible is all it is.

GTA V makes a usable car wash an easy thing to carry forward. What is new, if the preview reports hold, is that the pump finally does something.
What would settle it
For gas stations: Rockstar showing or describing the refuelling interaction itself, in a trailer, a Newswire post or a published interview. For car washes: any official footage or statement at all, or the game’s release.
