Miami Heat Become 'Vice City' for One Night Before GTA 6 Launch

The Miami Heat will play as Vice City for one game on November 18, 2026, the night before Grand Theft Auto VI launches. The team and Rockstar announced “A Night in Vice City” on October 2: a home game against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Kaseya Center, with a custom court and brand-new uniforms.
This is backfill. The partnership was announced a month ago and should have been covered then, but the game has not been played yet and it is now one of the last public events before launch.
What happens on the night
| Detail | What has been announced |
|---|---|
| Date | November 18, 2026, one day before GTA 6 |
| Opponent | Milwaukee Bucks |
| Venue | Kaseya Center, Miami |
| Team name | Vice City, for this one game |
| Court | A custom design made for the game |
| Uniforms | A new, reimagined set |
| Tip-off | 7 p.m. local time, per Inven Global |
Ticketmaster lists the matchup under the Vice City name, according to Inven Global, and the NBA gave the event a dedicated page on the Heat’s section of its site. Coverage also says the game will be shown live on ESPN, which would put the promotion in front of a national audience the night before launch.
Bleacher Report points to a second storyline that has nothing to do with Rockstar: it is Giannis Antetokounmpo’s first game against the Bucks since his trade to Miami. That gives sports fans a reason to watch whether or not they care about the game.
Where it fits in the Miami campaign
This is the largest piece so far of Rockstar’s push into the real city. Our earlier reports trace how that campaign developed, and not all of it went smoothly.
Miami-Dade’s sheriff objected publicly to the idea of the county being marketed as Vice City, and some of the larger proposals that circulated were never formally approved. Miami Beach approved its own beach marketing, and the county later signed a deal worth almost $1 million that put a “Welcome to Vice City” sign on the roof of the same arena where this game will be played.
A one-night team rebrand is a different kind of deal from those. It is an arrangement with a private franchise rather than a county, so it does not raise the same civic question about a public body lending its name to a crime game.
The merchandise
The Heat have released a Vice City collection through the team’s own store, with tees starting at $45 according to Complex. Inven Global says some designs nod to the reward shirt from the original GTA: Vice City.
This is separate from Rockstar’s own Goodtime State collector’s box, which comes from the Rockstar Store. The two are easy to confuse because of the shared Vice City branding. Notebookcheck says the Heat’s range is sold under the team’s Court Culture label.
What is still unannounced
The uniforms and the court have been described but not fully shown in the coverage we read, and Complex says the team teased more announcements in the weeks after October 2. Inven Global also reports that special in-arena programming began with the Heat’s home opener on October 21.
The coverage we read does not say whether the broadcast will feature anything from GTA 6 itself. Reviews are also claimed to be arriving on the same date, though Rockstar has not confirmed that. If the claim holds, November 18 will be a busy day.
