GTA 6 Trailer 1: The Reveal That Broke Records

It finally happened. After a decade of GTA V, Rockstar revealed Grand Theft Auto VI on December 5, 2023 — a day earlier than planned, after the trailer leaked online.

The 91 seconds confirmed the big ones: a return to Vice City, a modern-day setting in the state of Leonida, and Lucia — the series’ first female lead in the modern era — introduced from inside a prison interview room.

The numbers were historic: more than 90 million views in its first 24 hours, making it one of the biggest video debuts YouTube had ever seen, alongside a record-breaking wave of likes, reaction videos and frame-by-frame threads.
